FAQ's

Q: Are there any safety risks associated with The Seat? Is there less control of my ride?
A: It certainly feels different at first, but if you take the usual precautions when riding, there should be no reduction in personal safety.

Q: Does The Seat take getting used to?
A: Yes, we recommend spending about 10 days (or 5 rides) to get used to the different posture. After that your ride will feel natural and comfortable.

Q: Is The Seat simple for me to fit?
A: The ECD Seat fits the vast majority of bicycles from standard road bicycles to mountain bikes and folding bicycles.

If your bike has a standard clamp on top of the post that secures onto two parallel rails on the saddle, as with most bikes, it will fit.

If not, take your current saddle and post to a bike dealer and have them fit a standard post and ECD seat for you.

Q: Does The Seat feel different?

A: Riding on the ECD Seat is a new sensation. Since you were a child all saddles had noses. Your first feeling may be that you could slip slightly forward. This feeling will go away the more you ride. If you have drop-down handlebars you may experience more weight on your arms. Please make sure you tilt the seat back a bit more than usual if you feel you are slipping forward.

Q: If I don't like The Seat can I return it?
A: Ride it a few times to get used to the new feeling and alter the adjustments if necessary - we are confident that you will love it. If we are wrong, return the Seat in 'as new' condition, together with the receipt within 14 days of receipt, to:
ECD Sports, 6 Harts Lane, South Godstone, Surrey RH9 8LZ and we will refund the cost of the Seat (excluding postage and handling).

Q: What are the dimensions and weight of the seats?
A: Both the Lycra and Vinyl seats are 22cm in width, approx 13cm from the back to the front. The Lycra weighs 435g and the Vinyl 382g.
